We cannot believe that our little Abigail Daisy is 6 months old now!! I'm sure all parents say that. But, a year ago we couldn't even picture that our baby would actually BE. We didn't even know she was a girl yet! We couldn't believe we'd be parents and have a baby! Here we are a year later with the sweetest, funniest, happiest 6 month old in the world!
Abs had her 6 month checkup last weekend and here is the scoop:
-Weight: 16 1/2 lbs - 50th precentile
-Length: 27 1/4 inches - 90th percentile (clearly she is long and lean like her Daddy!!)
-Got her normal 6 month shots, one oral vaccine, and her first of two flu shots
-She can begin with a sippy cup when we are ready - for now she plays with it to get comfy w/the idea
-She can start yogurt - we gave it a try that day at McDonald's and she loved it!
-She is GREAT developmentally and tore/tried to eat the white paper that covers the examining table
Here is what Abigail is up to lately:
-She has "one toofie" and she will have "two toofies" any day now - so cute!! She won't let us get a good shot of them with the camera though!
-She is still getting to bed a little late for our liking, but with her teething, her schedule is a little more hectic. However, once Abigail goes to sleep, she sleeps for 9-10 hours straight only waking up for a pacifier to be put back in her mouth (she doesn't know that at the end of October, that thing is gone!)
-She is so curious and can sit and play for large chunks of time. She can play alone or with Mom and/or Dad or anyone else. She's content both ways.
-She's almost reached the point of clapping her hands. Right now, she brings them together in excitement or joy and clasps her fingers together like an old lady does. And it's beyond cute.
-Abigail's hair is filling in, but it's filling in pretty light. I think she's really going to have gorgeous auburn-red hair
-Speaking of, her eyes are still crystal blue. No brown eyes for this little one!
-Abigail says "mama" "dada" "baba" and now makes "kkkk-kkkk" sounds regularly. She also buzzes her lips and does that thing where you stick your tongue between your lips and blow and get this "thbpppt" noise. She loves that.
-She likes to sit up with us on the sofa, and loves to sit up in her Bumbo chair. She can sit on her own for about 5 seconds, then tips forward so it's still a work in progress.
-Abs reaches out to us when she wants to be held or picked up
-She also does the "gimme" gesture with her hands. She doesn't seem to know what it means but she just does it all the time!
That's about it for now! I could think of a million more updates but ya'll would get bored! We have some great new photos I will add this weekend - Abigail playing in a box and wearing a baseball cap!
